I think that's the top comparison, with what I was thinking - simple numbers and talent.

I can make somewhat of a comparison between the best of the game when I was a kid (mostly celtics, lakers) and the warriors type of play - smaller ball, multiple stars and good teamwork; but that span of years with kobe-type, star-focused play had me lose general interest for a while, and I don't think it's in the same set.
