That changes the narrative a lot. Whereas I've never read that the Bataclan attackers had been there before, or had something to do with the band play

-ing (the Eagles of Death Metal), both this guy and the San Bernardino husband chose places they had a strong connection to.
The revenge or other concrete issues theme might overshadow the Islamism aspect.
(Although, was there ever a self-recruited terrorist who didn't have some kind of personality disorder or other major psychological issues, character flaws or the like? A normal, well-adjusted person can't be presumed to turn to terrorism over night, almost ever, bar extreme circumstances and/or time of war.)
