I'd have done a full reinstall of Win7 to 64-bit by now to get it rolling but like most PCs, it came with the PC so reinstalling to a different bit

isn't really an option. I ran the Windows Update repair tool and the install seems to be progressing now (via Teamviewer) so I think we're making progress.
