Assuming we arrive at the same destination as the show but by a different path, this seems to suggest that Sansa and Littlefinger will arrive at Winterfell with the Knights of the Vale in the nick of time. Which (I think) supports your speculation about the price Sansa has to pay.
Also, I wonder if it will be Theon who sets the dogs on Ramsay. (Sansa would still have a motivation, as Jeyne Poole was her best friend in Winterfell)
