the cries of OP for various classes basically stem from groups that can be well coordinated to take advantage of the abilities vs. random guys

'Require' is a strong word. I've been in completely silent matches where we've stomped the other team.

ok, but those games where you stomped also required your team to be somewhat balanced (or the other team to be totally unbalanced)
