I thought so too until the last two weeks. Trump's put himself into a place where I don't think most voters even consider him a true pol anymore.

He's a reality tv character and his arc is about to run out. The polling is moving and it is moving quickly. There will be a comfort to the idea of switching horses soon.

(Wildcard: The ROC finally convinces him to step aside. I know we don't think that is possible however he's not going to want to be crushed either. Stepping aside in the next few weeks would allow some degree of face-saving that a crushing loss in November may not.)
