Local TV warning about the risk of being burned by artificial turf.

Apparently kids have already run onto it barefoot in playgrounds and been burned.

they must not have the good stuff. it's common here, and that never seems to happen (in spite of the constant barefootedness of Australians). -- nm

I think this is more the old astroturf variety. Adults recognize it as plastic but not little kids. -- nm
