Ika frustration

I don't get it. I attacked this town with a whole lot of resources, and I ended up joining 2 other players. I participated in the fight, lost some units, yet my boats are coming back empty, a spy report says there are still a lot of resources left, and the combat report says:
Victors: penelope, dancrosoft, Guigue
penelope from colorado has won the battle and pillages Roika.
dancrosoft from Dancrolious IV has won the battle and pillages Roika.
That sucks
