For funzies, I went to Lake Charles earlier today for my first casino experience. I must not have done it right, I lost $40 but I got a shirt.

I thought I was supposed to lose $40 AND my shirt.

It was an amusing time spent mostly people (and lake) watching. I appreciated the insanely frosty AC since it's reaching towards 100 degrees daily as per usual.

They had one entire level that was smoke-free which I'm sure wasn't the case years ago.

I didn't have any cocktails even though the lady kept telling me they were complimentary. (I drink so little these days.)

The buffet was holiday overpriced and miserable. This is where I felt like I wasted money, not on the game room floor.

I'd probably do it again, sure.

A visit to Buc-ee's, a mega rest stop icon, on the way back was kind of the best part.
