Speaking of Kindle, I need some advice. The newly formatted novels are done. They now feature table of contents and conform to the .mobi format!

This wasn't a thing when they were first released far too many years ago.
The question is:
Do I want to just upload them and inform people myself that they're there if they don't automatically have wispersync enabled thus allowing them to automatically get the new version.
Or...
Do I want to submit them to Amazon where they'll actually take 7 days to check them over to see if it's a big enough of a deal to send emails to previous purchasers of the novels that "Hey, a new, better version is available?"
The pros and cons:
If I do the first thing, Amazon won't be snooping around and possibly pull the novels from their site.
If I do the last thing, if Amazon doesn't pull the novels, it'd be essentially free advertising to readers reminding them I exist, have new versions, and may have other books they didn't know about.
