Has anyone read "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein?

I just started and already I would consider it one of greater (could turn out to be in greatest..more time/pages will tell) as well as most tragic (this I'm already sure of) novels I've ever been lucky enough to pick up.

If nothing else, It is the most brilliant first person, er, first dog narrative that I've ever heard
