When we meet John Wick, what do we know about his past?
When we meet Bryan Mills, what do we know about his past?
It's a subtle form of sexism to presume that in order to tell Harley Quinn's story, we need to show The Joker. You're not saying that to tell Deadshot's story, we need to show his gun training, are you? It's the same thing.
