Very much this. Making awesome 1st party games for your hardware is pointless if the userbase does not exist.

I would 1000000% buy the new Zelda game if they made it for PS4, but as it's a WiiU/NX exclusive, Nintendo gets 0 money from me, and will continue to get zero money from me.
