I'll have my schedule for next weekend by Friday night, but you pretty much nailed it: Weekends for me are the pits.

Lake Charles is 2.5 hours away on average. It was a bit faster for me on July 4th. The worst part is just before Beaumont (detours onto feeder) and just before the Louisiana line (swiss cheese road).

I cannot go, through long-range, I certainly am wanting to do more adventuresome things and will be working towards that goal end of 2016. Visiting your part of the state would be that.
