I can see everything in the game, after gps errors resolve; but no beasties appear at all, like it's missing that last step.

blahblah: the building used to house some groups that had DoD contracts back in the day, and there were some external surface protections (not spells) put in place - measures had to be taken along the way to get cell phones to work, maybe not enough for super-specific gps-ing.
