No, all you have to do is figure out the presale password.

If you go to the Ticketmaster page, you can see who is doing the presale and if it's something like Ticket Nation, then often you can find the presale code on their Facebook page. these days, if you don't get tickets via presale, the chances of getting tickets are reduced greatly. They should just offer a certain percentage for presale but things like Temple of the Dog at MSG sold out before they went on sale to the public.
