The single-player campaign, absolutely agreed. Half Life has a far superior single-player campaign, IMO.

Multiplayer, however ... that's another scenario entirely. Halo 3 multiplayer is so smooth and easy to jump into, it's going to take a while for a game to come close to that slick interface.
