they went along with his vision, UNTIL BvS fiasco hit, then their balls shrunk, and they switched gears on him and forced him to do reshoots that did not really mesh with what his plan was. They did not seemlessly fit in with what he had planned, and therefore, became a mess.

I get the Joker gripes, but I sure think he makes more sense if you know WHY he had a grill and tattoos and such, instead of just throwing that image out there.
