The rumors of Vader crushing people on the battlefield never made much sense to me. This is just before the original trilogy, and Vader wasn't really a badass fighter in those movies. He was strong in the force, but kind of clunky and slow in lightsaber battles. I understand that the reason he was slow was because the guy inside the suit couldn't really move that well, but that's the world they built.
