That makes no sense.

It's not just the touch but the location on the opponent's body that matters. Epee is the only fencing style where ...

Yeah, I don't get it. I know the difference between the weapons but the fact that I got you first should be what matters in fencing. At least to me. -- (edited)

Think of it as being training for swordfighting. You don't win a swordfight by winning first touch -- nm
