Yeah, I don't get it. I know the difference between the weapons but the fact that I got you first should be what matters in fencing. At least to me. -- (edited)

I thought the idea was to see which person can hit the other person first. The right of way thing doesn't make sense to me. If I see you coming and I get you first why should the other person get the point if he hits me after I've already got him. It's very odd to me.
