I listened to the Real Crime podcast that went more in depth with the case so I'm not just basing this on the doc.

I've read a whole bunch as well and still I'm not convinced he did it. I can see him having killed her and like you said it certainly didn't happen the way the prosecutor said it did.
She wasn't brutally murdered on his property with no blood evidence being found. He's not Dexter. ;-)
