One of the things that was always suspect about this though, was that Avery was not tried on the same theory of the case that Dassey was. They did

not raise the theory the same way Brendan (in his coerced confession) said it did. This was somewhat unclear in the show I felt, but because they didn't want to put Brendan on the stand, the theory they presented to the Avery jury didn't involve all the stuff that Brendan said happened.
