is how ambiguous the first 45 minutes or so is. it's brilliant. it's hard to know exactly what's happening, since all you get is pieces. as someone who has seen thousands of movies, you're waiting for the time when some character in the screenplay goes for the expository romp that clues you in.

they get to the safe house. the host guy takes out the paperwork, and starts in with "have you ever heard of ley lines?" and you figure, well, here it comes.

michael shannon's character cuts him off with "i'm just really tired".

i laughed like hell.
