I don't have much reason not to believe them at this point. Is it that surprising that there are minor inconsistencies in the stories of four dudes

who were put all night? Eyewitnesses are unreliable, and even sober people often have different stories about the same things.
It's the kind of thing that can happen in Rio, just look at the Russian diplomat, and the authorities going "maybe you made the whole thing up!", unless they have something they're holding back, seems like them just trying to save face/cast doubt on the whole thing.
Like I have a friend who lived in Nairobi for years, and he said you never question the police on high-profile/potentially embarrassing investigations, or you get "why are you so interested? Maybe you're involved!" (Even if they know you're not).
