Not many, but SLU is in a unique situation, I think. They're smack in the middle of St. Louis city.

So - they could fill their school with kids from the area all living at home or random places around the city.

But it does nothing to build a sense of community within the student body.

I mean, I went to school in Rolla, MO - where there is nothing but the university. So, it's a college town. they don't care where you live because everything you want to do there - aside from cow tipping - is school related.

In St. Louis - there's so much to do that without this requirement - there would be no sense of community.
