the Yasawa islands were the best part of Fiji that's close to the main island. it's a little archipelago that stretches NE from the main island.

you can get on a fast ferry and cruise around, pick one to stay at for the night. just don't get off at the first couple, they were full of drunken backpackers when I was there.
