race the driving factor again? Is it terrorism that is making people afraid and intolerant? We had immigration before and while it was not without its issues, it wasn't like this. Is it just the economic evolution that is making manufacturing jobs disappear and switching to a more technical and service economy that some people aren't trained or suited for? Some combination? It just seems like a lot of these issues existed before and while we had massive events like the Civil War in the past, it seemed we had moved past a lot of it. I guess not. The other part that is strange is that the same issues seem to be impacting Western countries all over the world in similar ways. It feels like the spilling over of the Middle East mess may be driving a good piece of it.
