a lot of regionalism and ignorance based on that regionalism too

I remember talking with an inlaw (from rural Ontario) who were complaining about the undue (from their perspective) influence of Quebec on federal politics and their constitutional guarantee of seats. I pointed out that they're basically bang on in terms of proportion, and that there's 8 million people in it, and it's really the Maritimes that pushes things out of whack. He would not believe that there were that many people there.
