I wonder if touchy debates like this might be better-done in ye olde letter form, rather than snippets.

The enhanced articulation might allow people to fully state all facets of their understanding of their own beliefs, and through that articulation, a common ground might be found to actually settle the differences of opinion.
In many discussions here, the trend seems to skew towards the black-and-white simplification of the concepts, and that's not very productive when discussing real-world issues with many shades of grey.
And then, of course, the frustration evident in the phrasing of responses inevitably leads to interpersonal conflicts, often between people who aren't even involved in the argument proper.
But then, of course, it would be best if ST could harness the inevitable page views and ad impressions from such an articulated set of arguments ... maybe I should make a blog feature? :)
