Interesting. Reasons include (I speculate): Finite # of draft picks v. larger pool of undrafted free agents, and the economic consequences of whiffing

I wonder if position dynamics play a part ... 1st and 2nd round draft picks tend to come from positions with shorter career life spans? Undrafted free agents tend to come from skill positions?
