In response to ""racist climate crisis"" by Strongbad

Meh - the point is that it's basically rich countries that are contributing the most to climate change and poor ones who are going to suffer the most

from it. It's not racist as in "black people are being held down by the Man", but it is racist in that people in places like Africa and South Asia are going onto suffer (and in some cases are already suffering) from the effects of climate change (eg drought) and also its human impacts (eg people fighting over scarcer resources) while people in Europe and North America just have to face higher gas bills and confusing rules about recycling.

(There's an asterisk here now that countries such as China are leading contributors to global warming. But that has a racial element too - why should a country like China or India cut its emissions which would hamstring its economic growth and efforts to get its people out of poverty, because of a problem largely caused by wealthy countries? Not that they shouldn't reduce emissions - but it's an issue to be managed in the response to climate change)
