They kill off a sweet character that cares for your character. You're a little animal like creature that is falls out of a tree during a violent storm and you're left alone without a mother or anyone to care for you. This character picks you up and cares for you until the forest dies and then he/she dies. I was sad and I hadn't even started the game.
