yep. in a past job, we had to have someone come watch to make sure that the tupperware thing didn't happen so soon..

a couple of people (2 in HR, 1 former HR no less) would do that for board meeting food, sometimes before board members had time to go nab food themselves. it was so embarrassing. (it was somewhat schmancier than our regular meeting catering, but still all from the same campus caterers).
actually, we ended up saying that it was only ok to take anything at all after the food had been moved to a break room. (the first step was a smaller conference room near the boardroom.)
