no - being on an interview panel is a good developmental opportunity. I found that sitting on the other side of the table made me think a lot more

about what interviewers were looking for in a new hire.
It would have been nice to be informed of the final decision, but I'm assuming you had opportunities to discuss each candidate in the post-interview discussions. And ultimately, it's the person who will be managing the new hire that makes the decision.
