not sure on backsplash yet (i really love this smoky gray/green glass tiles I saw though which had a "cracked" finish on them).

ideas? the kitchen is open to the dining area mostly, but it is contained enough that a different color would be fine.

the ceiling is vaulted and will be white. the dining/living room is a light tan.
