Q: Contacting Ex?
This might be the oldest question in the book, but here it goes. My boyfriend and I broke up this week. We both love each other but he wanted to move in and get married and I'm not quite there yet, so we came to a mutual agreement that parting ways was the right decision. I'd still be up for being the best friends we were before we started dating. He wanted no contact because he said talking/emailing/texting, even at a reduced level, would be too painful. Of course, I agreed to his wishes. My question is, is there ever a point where I can check in with him to see what he's up to? We were the best of friends before we (ruined everything by) falling in love. I miss having him in my life, and I'm genuinely curious about how life is going for him. I don't want to be disrespectful or make things harder by checking in, and I would only do it some pre-determined time from now (6 months?), but I don't know if it's a good idea at all.
