In response to "Mike Pence is straight worthless. If your opening volley is Clinton Foundation, you've already lost buddy. -- nm" by MDH

So anyone who questions whether there is a conflict of interest when the husband of the Secretary of State -- and former President -- is ...

Accepting donations from foreign countries while married to the Secretary of State is just ... inventing stuff? Or a fear-monger? Or stupid?

I'm not saying anyone did anything wrong. I'm not accusing Sec. Clinton or Pres. Clinton of any sort of corruption, illegal activity, or any sort of wrong doing. Because I don't know what actually went on with the Clinton Foundation from 2001 to 2015.

And that is a problem.

Because it is not actual corruption or actual conflict of interest that undermines democracy -- it is the reasonable perception of conflict of interest and corruption that undermines democracy.

The only substantive response to any questions about conflict of interest that I've heard from either Sec. Clinton or Pres. Clinton is: "Just trust us."

That is not good enough for me.

Again, I'm not reaching prejudicial conclusions. But the fact that no one affiliated with the Clinton Foundation has been willing to come clean and be perfectly transparent about their conflict of interest policy, other relevant policies, the safeguards put in place to prevent any sort of monetary influence, and other related information ... that bothers me.

And I'm not nearly the only one.
