The best spot is probably after the Siege Engine. The potential drops are chest armor, gauntlets, rocket launcher, or an artifact. You really want the gauntlets for the raid, and there aren't many ways to get a high level artifact.
And if you want to move them between characters using an app mid-raid, you need to convert them to fragments first. Those can be moved through apps, keys can't.
