My favorite recent FPS is COD:4 and the cover system was fantastic.

The same could be said for Rainbow Six. Both those games are better FPS than Halo but lack the quality of the multi-player that Halo has.
I like the realistic FPS games over the fantasy/sci-fi games like Halo.
Playing Halo's multi-player is as much fun as I've ever had playing a game on my 360.
