When polls widen or close based on specific events, it's not spurious. It's momentum.

Things have tightened because of the FBI email reveal, and Trump hasn't openly said anything stupid in a week or so.
She has a better shot than Trump to win, but the chances of it being a blow-out are pretty much non-existent now.
