ok ... so - I fly in 2 days and am stressing over packing in my checked bag vs carry on bag.

I mean - my scuba stuff is bulky (shortie wet suit and mask are the two critical pieces) - and I worry that if my bag gets lost - my scuba on the reef will be a problem for getting a suit that fits and a mask that also fits. The mask is probably more critical really.
My friend John says lost luggage usually catches up with you - and we don't scuba the 17th of November - and then I scuba separately from him from the 22nd to December 1st.
SO ... do I pack that gear and heft it in Detroit - LA - Fiji - or take the risk of putting it in my checked bag?
