Opinions requested, please, So, we had been boarding the dog for the last 3-4 weeks at a place here in TN while I dealt with the move. We picked him

up last night.
I had been in contact with the owners of the kennel/rescue to see how Ferb was doing. This place is a rescue that also does boarding through Rover.com to help with the costs of running a rescue. Ferb was there with at least a dozen other dogs, apparently having the time of his life.
We know that we have a good dog, and that he will probably mellow out a bit as he gets older, but he is veeerrrry needy. He needs to be a half inch behind us at all times. (Hey buddy, I'm walking from the couch to the lamp 6 feet away, it's okay, you can stay where you are!)
I had been asking the rescue owner whether he was dealing with the same thing, and he said no, that Ferb was too busy with the other dogs.
Ferb apparently made a love connection with another dog there. She is currently up for adoption. I saw them in action last night and they were great together. On her own, she is a total sweetheart, wonderful temperament and she was great with Nathan. She's very calm
I personally am not dying to have another dog, but I can see the benefit on Ferb's end. And this girl is a total sweetie. Those of you who have more than one dog - do you find that your dogs are more occupied having each other? Are there drawbacks? I've only ever had one dog, even as a kid, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something.

Ferb will be less needy with a second dog because he'll have someone to play with.

I think they'd rather have a doggie pal and do tend to do better that way. Enhances their pack which they love. (you should get that dog...) -- nm*

I've always had one, but lots of my friends have 2 (or more). Socially, it's terrific for the dogs -- nm
