So I was involved in somewhat of a confrontation with library staff today which culminated with me basically

absconding with a cart of books and shelving them in the bookstore.

I think I've mentioned we've been unable to accept donations due to the library cutting back on our storage space.

Today I saw a cart of apparent discards in the office and asked if they were bookstore ready. I was told - by someone I didn't recognize due to recent staffing changes - that these were for recycling because the bookstore "was not accepting donations."
It was the library system that placed the moratorium on donations but we were still taking their discards. These were nice looking books so I argued the point - got nowhere - and grabbed the cart and wheeled it out to the bookstore.

Our biography shelves are now full, we have a nice selection of home decorating and craft books, and I held back some beautiful coffee table type books for potential special pricing.

Winning!!!!
