I hate the fact, and it's a trope for sure, where the new guy just happens along at the EXACT time where it hits the fan and he is needed.

If Strange has his accident a month later and mopes around the house for a month longer, the big bad gets away with the plan completely and the world is gone. If they hang around an hour fixing the New York Sanctorum before heading to Hong Kong, it's over.

Also, I find it very difficult to believe that Strange would be able to fight at the level of the top bad guys so quickly, especially when they made the point that he was so bad compared to other students. I get that you can say that he is predisposed to excel at it, and he would learn very quickly, but I mean come on.
