I watched the polling and guaged my concern by that. I worried when polling indicated I should.

I even called when I would start worrying. Before the first debate I said if 538 had Clinton in the mid 60% range after the last debate, I'd start to worry. That happened early last week.
Any worry before that was just being anxious because your rest state is anxious.
