We've done everything we could to protect him - and the customers love him - but he's been disturbing the library staff

He'll jam the cash register and go ask one of them to help him fix it. It's not their responsibility and with staffing cutbacks they really don't have the time or inclination.
His wife recently told me that she'd let me know when she felt he could no longer handle it - guess I need to let her know.
