The GOP has carefully destroyed political norms. They built Trump.

There hasn't been the concept of Compromise since Reagan and Tip O'Neil - 9/11 may count but not really, the Democrats spinelessly rubber stamped most of what Cheney wanted.

If I thought the...I don't even know what to call them...Conservatives...the Republicans...whoever...If I thought they were genuinely interested in compromise I'd approve of this sentiment. I do not. The divide just got insurmountably large for me.
