Trump just doesn't have the capacity to unite the country, even if he wanted to, which he doesn't. He basically declared his contempt for the half of the country that doesn't support him. Clinton did not get her message out to the rural areas effectively, but I defy anyone to claim that she doesn't care about those people. This is going to be the most divided 4 years in American history since the Civil War.
