but no. the thing is that you have to start now. the people who voted for carrot top feel disenfranchised

and that mobilized them to vote. in 2.5 years, nothing will have changed, but the human cheeto will say "oh, we're working on it, we've still got you" and they will come out again in masses, re energized by new false promises.
the only way to win is to close the gap. liberal elites need to be less so. this election was purported to be about race and gender but it wasn't at all. you never heard anyone saying "we need to target the rural poor vote." we need to as a society find a way to help people who aren't excatly like us, to understand them, at the very least, so that we are speaking the same language in 2020.
we have to start now. talk to people who don't look exactly like you. it's the only way.
